Passengers, you have been warned.
A flight attendant named Kat Nesbitt shared a two-minute TikTok listing the five things she wishes people would stop doing on planes.
The first was yoga in the back galleys.
“Now I understand that flights can be long, and sometimes you have to get up, lie down, walk around, get the blood flowing,” Nesbitt said, “but when you’re waiting for a whole fitness class, a party for one, galleys, it will be too much.”
Nesbitt noted that planes are “already so small” and cabin crew are trying to work in the back of the plane where “all the yoga sessions” take place between passengers from time to time.
“Not only is it uncomfortable to use, but it can also be a safety hazard especially when there are hot meals and hot trays coming out of the ovens,” she added.
The second disgusting airline habit that Nesbitt hates is when passengers throw their trash into the beverage carts while the attendants are performing the service.
“There’s a saying in the flight attendant community that you never mix the clean with the dirty,” Nesbitt explained. “So for you to put your dirty, contaminated waste in a drinks cart where we’re trying to serve hundreds of people is really bad.”
“Not to mention that every time we have a service, we always have a trash service,” Nesbitt noted.
She added that passengers should hold their trash until the attendants return for trash service.
Number three is that passengers misbehave with flight attendants when there is a delay.
“I promise you, we’re usually more upset than you,” she said, “because this delay is usually cutting off our departure or our ability to get home.”
Nesbitt also noted that attendants are paid when they are in the air, not when they are on the ground.
The fourth habit is that passengers cut their nails on the plane.
Nesbitt said the “wild” habit, while some people may not believe it, “is a lot more common than you think.”
“And every time it’s disgusting,” she said.
The fifth and final custom is for passengers to wait until the plane is approaching the gate to get out of their seats and use the bathroom.
“First, this is very dangerous. Not just for you, but for the people around you,” Nesbitt explained. “Not to mention on every single flight we make a 20-25 minute announcement that now is your last chance to get up and use the bathroom before we make our final descent to our destination and arrive at gate.”
Nesbitt captioned her video: “5 things I wish passengers would stop doing on airplanes as a flight attendant”.
In the comments, people agreed with Nesbitt’s assessment of the airplane’s ethics.
One follower noted that passengers have become “too comfortable” on airplanes these days and called out people who take their shoes off.
“Yes! Also super common on airplanes,” Nesbitt replied.
